Well I'm going to try and play a little catch up on this Blog! She has had 2 baptisms since the last time I wrote. The 12 year old girl she was teaching and an older woman. I will just post her last email, and then try to keep up from here on out Only about 6 more months left!!!
As a missionary I've realized there's so much we need to do in this
life to prepare for the coming life. Those things are more important
than worldly things.
"Don’t yield to Satan’s lie that you don’t have time to study the
scriptures [or say prayers, or have FHE). Choose to take time to study
them. Feasting on the word of God each day is more important than
sleep, school, work, television shows, video games, or social media.
You may need to reorganize your priorities to provide time for the
study of the word of God. If so, do it!" (Richard G. Scott October
2014 GC).
They really are small things that only take a little bit of time. The
key is setting priorities, goals and plans. God is a planner!!! For
example, the plan of salvation. I can't help but think we're supposed
to be the same way.
Here's some advice. Plan out a specific time for everything or it
won't happen. We'll get "too busy" for scriptures or prayers. Set a
time for scripture study and prayer and don't let anything get in the
way of it--you must give these things first priority. Set reminders if
you have to.
D&C 82:10 "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do
not what I say, ye have no promise." If you keep the commandments,
you'll have God's promise of protection and blessings. But if not, you
have no promise.
I read this talk and wanted to share it with you guys and invite you
to read it! It's called "One Task at a Time" in the February 2015 New
Era. I'm so excited for when I come home to be able to share all I've
learned with you guys.
I love you all. Have a good week. I'm praying for each of you, every day!
Love, Hermana Hansen
