week three was great, despite being sick with a cold and having no cold medicine. but i made it living off of cough drops and tissues!
thursday 9/4
i was still recoving from a flu and started getting a cold that lasted all week! since i was sick, i didn't play the zone volleyball game...again. but i got time to write everyone a letter and slipped a little gift in. it will probably take 2-3 weeks to get to you haha.
friday 9/5
we got another new district in the zone, but we're losing one this next sunday :( the newbies are an intermediate class so they all speak spanish pretty fluently and there are only 8 of them! Hermana harper and i fan girled when we heard someone down the street outside the ccm walls playing one direction. i don't remember which song, but it was funny. and by fangirled i mean we pressed our faces to the window and sushed everyone so we could here haha. we're hopeless
saturday 9/6
it was extremely loud this night, but when is it not haha. there are constantly car horns honking, dogs barking, sirens going off and music playing. surprisingly enough, i've been able to sleep through the night every night except the couple of nights i was sick the previous week.
sunday 9/7
it was fast sunday, but it was my favorite sunday here. and probably my favorite fast sunday. i bore my testimony in spanish in front of our whole zone. they had an optional choir practice you could go to so i went with hna. prestwich on a split to the practice. we're singing in the devotional this next tuesday. we'll have a broadcast from provo, but we'll just sing before to the people in the mexico ccm. it brought back some good choir memories haha. we watched the farewell videos they play every sunday for the zones leaving and also the church movie they play every sunday. instead of one movie, they played 3 shorter movies this time: the history of sister missionaries, only a stonecutter, and finding faith in christ. they all inspired me to be more dedicated to my calling as a missionary.
monday 9/8
we had a sub. teacher at night, so we didn't get to teach edgar. instead, we taught the sub as a new investigator. it was pretty good. our morning teacher, hermano melara showed us this really cool video he and a companion made in the mission field using clips from joseph smith's life. it was about overcoming trials. i bought a purple ccm shirt since i'd been wanting one for a while. they didn't have the black and gold one in my size so i just bought a purple one--the only one in the whole store that fit me. and it's a youth small hahaha. i also bought some choki's they're really popular cookies around here and they were pretty good, but nowhere near as good as mom's homemade cookies. i'm sure i'll gain so much weight. i'll let you know next week after i find the scale that's supposedly in the gym and weigh myself.
tuesday 9/9
we had an amazing devotional by elder holland. it was a rerun of a january 2013 devotional at provo but it was really good. i wrote down some great impressions but won't have time to share them all. it really motivated us all to be better missionaries and reminded me of the magnitude of my calling. we had a great district devo. review after. i can't believe how close our district is. i don't think i've ever been so close to anyone like my district, out side of my family. elder holland talked about how much god trusts in us and how there were prophets of old who the only reason they were able to push through and continue through their trials and work was because of us. they knew they were paving the way and laying the foundation for us to succeed in preparing the world for the second coming.
wednesday 9/10
we taught edgar the plan of salvation. he accepted the invitation to be baptized and also 'go to church' with us this next sunday. it was an extremely long day!!! i went to the tienda and tried paying for my stuff with my house key card haha. i was so ready for p day
thursday 9/11
it's been a busy p day so far. we left for the temple this morning at 8:15, but it was an amazing experience. wish we could have gone into the temple, but the visitor's center was beautiful and an amazing experience. i'll attach some photos but there's more that they took on hna. hamilton's camera so if she gets a chance to send them to me, i'll forward them! :) i bought a new shirt at the tienda on the temple grounds its a tradition for hermanas to do that. they're all handmade. i'll attach a pic, it was the only pink one so of course i had to buy it. and i also bought you each a photo bc they had tons of photos of the savior, etc, and i'll try to get them sent in a flat envelope once i get to cali along with hallie and haiden's bday cards/gifts haha.
also, idk if you were able to get a photo for my plaque, if not, i have some on my laptop from when i sent in my papers you can use. it's like under my pictures and mission i think. and just use one that's been edited i think copy 4 is the one i used for my mission papers haha.
anyways, i love you all! one month almost down, 17 to go!
