Thanks for the prayers, keep em coming! :)
I wish I could send you pictures but I
can't. We went and got our hair trimmed today. The lady cut a little
more off than I wanted, but it looks good. The lady who was cutting my
hair asked me if I was Russian. She told me I looked like I was either
Russian or Ukrainian.
Our contacts are going really good. We came across a huge group of bikers the other day. We gave them each a picture of christ with our number to have missionaries come by. They wanted a picture with us and so we got a picture. They all came from central LA to the cemetery there. They do a cemetery ride each year to drop flowers at their relatives gravesides. One guy we talked to said next they were riding to Glendora to drop flowers at his grandmas grave.
Hermana Westergard and I have been working on having faith because it can be hard when you're working with the same people and no one is progressing. The girl I told you about really wants to be baptized, but wants to receive an answer of
when first. She's been praying about specific dates and still hasn't
received an answer as far as we know. I guess her primary teacher in
church told us that she told her she wants to be baptized on or
near her birthday which is March 15!!!! I'm super excited for her! So we're really excited to talk to her when we see them Tuesday night!
I don't have tons of time but wanted to share a small experience with
you that I had this week! I've been working a lot on having faith
especially when it comes to prayers: having faith that God will really
answer my prayers, and I've seen them answered!
Earlier this week we were riding our bikes between appointments. We
were trying to contact along the way. I was silently praying that God
would give me the opportunity to find someone who spoke Spanish who
was interested in our message. Almost immediately after, I looked up
and saw someone sitting against the edge of a building. Without my
glasses I couldn't tell if he was Armenian or Latino, but I stopped
because I felt the impression to. He ended up being Latino and really
interested in our message. We're going to try to go by his house to
visit him, his wife, and two daughters this next week.
Another experience: this morning in companionship study it was my turn
to say the prayer. I was praying for Hermana Westergard that she would
receive inspirations for those we'd visit today. I also felt prompted
that I should pray that she'd receive revelation for herself. As we
were discussing our studies, she said she realized that what she'd
been studying and saying was personal revelation and exactly what she
needed to be working on right now. She hadn't noticed me saying that
in the prayer, but it was a testimony to me that God answers prayers
and at if we pray being led by the spirit, it will always be gods will
we'll be asking for!
I know that God answers prayers and that he works by the faith of each
and every one of us.
Love, Hermana Hansen
