I've been feeling a lot better this week. I still have a stuffed up
nose and sneezing but it may just be allergies now. Glendale is lots of fun!!! We have to ride bikes a lot, which is hard, but we get to talk to all sorts of people here. I got to go on exchanges this last Friday to Saturday night. I went to East LA. The area is Bel 2 north, but I don't know exactly where we were. Our sister trainers' area is huge because they cover 2 wards (one is a YSA Spanish Ward), so their Ward boundaries cover like 6 areas. So we rode the bus and walked a lot. We went to 2 different areas. One was really nice and the other area looked like mini Mexico to me. The housing and mainly the stores that were pretty much a hole in the wall. There are things in pomona that were awesome and things here that are awesome. I think the ward in pomona was a lot better at helping missionaries and being involved in missionary work, but here not as much. But here we meet a lot more people because there's just more people here. And I have an extremely awesome companion.
Moises wasn't able to come to church this week because of work but he wants to do something about that so he can keep the sabbath day holy.
I haven't had a dishwasher in a while, but it's not really that
bad, we just wash dishes after we use them, so it's pretty easy.
I'm really excited for the challenge I gave you to go to the temple. You'll have to
let me know when you get the chance to go to the temple. You'll have
to go for me. Sometimes I wish I could go to the temple more, but it
just makes me realize what a blessing I had to have the temple so
close in Boise and the opportunity to go more often. I definitely want
to go more when I get back and...do more family history :D And yeah,
you should encourage the kids to bring a family name, for sure!!!
I've already got some ideas for future challenges!
Um...I guess my gift to christ is: I want to finish the standard works
(BOM, Bible (old and new testaments), and D&C).
I got the headband pattern but haven't started because our district
leader likes us doing something as a district each week. We don't
always go. maybe next week or the next I'll start it :) on p days we
do laundry, clean, write letters and emails (oh, and now we can't use
our wifi in our pad so we'll have to go down to Starbucks right next
door to us from now on). Right now we're at McDonald's because the
district is meeting here and taking the bus to some museum today. And
we also can't use our iPad to take pictures, just our regular camera,
so I'll probably be just taking pics on my regular camera and every
month or so go to the library and email them home. I think I'm gonna
send all the pics from my iPad home and have you save them on my hard
drive because I have to have them all deleted and cleaned out by
Thursday.
Since being on my mission one thing I also want to do more of
when I get back is service. After doing that CDA cares thing it makes
me want to do more volunteer work :)
I love you lots and I won't have a ton of time to email this week, so
I might not get a big family email sent out.
Lots of love, Hermana Hansen
