Yeah it was really good to talk to you guys. Some of them are looking
and sounding bigger!!! I do love the crocheting stuff. Today we may be going to that memorial park I think. If we don't I'll definitely have to start on a headband or
something. Yeah Effy is amazing. She invited us to the rose parade if we get it
approved, which we probably won't...but we'll see.
I don't remember exactly how much I weighed before the
mission but I believe at the MTC we weighed ourselves, so I believe I've gained 6 pounds! Haha. But that happens a lot in this area, and then most
hermanas lose it after leaving this area. It's been really cold. We
woke up this morning to go on our long bike ride and it was freezing,
so we pulled our bikes back inside and decided to go on a 10 minute
run instead, so we only had to endure the cold for 10 min instead of 30-45
min. Thanks for the weather update, we have no way to access what the weather is. Wow!!! It's really gonna be that cold? :( Yeah I keep
getting people telling me, you're from Idaho how can you be cold? I'm
already accustomed to the weather. I'm definitely going to die when I
get home because 55 degrees last night felt like 20 haha.
On Christmas we made Christmas cards and dropped them off at the old
folks home we do service at. And then we made lots of cookies and
dropped them off to more members. We'd made a batch of cookies the day
before but needs more. But....our oven stopped working!!! So now we
don't have an oven. Good thing we get fed a lot! It's a super duper
old gas stove. It has a button you push that like pushes gas into the
line or something. The office told us we'd have to call the manager to have it fixed, but we don't have a number for them so we're just without an oven.
I'm not sure about New Years. I know the stake is having a party at
like 8pm, but we're not going to it. We might just buy some small
sparkling ciders. Hna Westergards mom got her some cute glasses and
sparkle cider but we already used it. And then realized it was
probably for New Years, because it was in this separate present, not
wrapped up. Haha.
Well here's the quote for the week. We've been studying and teaching a
lot about temples this week. "I hope that everyone gets to the temple
on a regular basis. I hope your children over 12 years of age have the
opportunity of going to the temple to be baptized for the dead. If we
are a temple-going people, we will be a better people, we will be
better fathers and husbands, we will be better wives and mothers. I
know your lives are busy. I know that you have much to do. But I make
you a promise that if you will go to the house of the Lord, you will
be blessed, life will be better for you. Now, please, please, my
beloved brethren and sisters, avail yourselves of the great
opportunity to go to the Lord’s house and thereby partake of all of
the marvelous blessings that are yours to be received there" Gordon B.
Hinckley (ps: the article this came from has a couple really good
excerpts of his. I love president Hinckley) (Excerpts from Recent
Addresses of President Gordon B. Hinckley, July 1997 Ensign).
Miss you and love you lots.
